The money is part of the nonprofit’s recently established Fund for Health Equity, which supports community health centers and free clinics that help underserved populations.
According to Direct Relief, the money for Eskenazi will fund a community health program to care for the health centers’ patients experiencing homelessness, many of whom are black. The program pays a lot of attention to enhanced cardiovascular and diabetes services.
Direct Relief says the AbbVie Foundation seeded the fund with a $10 million donation. Click here to learn more.
