The health system says during a pause in construction because of the pandemic, original designs were reevaluated. Parkview says the updated plans include a more efficient use of existing space.
As previously planned, Parkview will construct a three-story specialty outpatient center at the southeast corner of Illinois Road and Glencarin Boulevard. The first floor will contain and emergency room, and lab and imaging services. The second and third floors will house specialty care practices and clinics.
Under the redesign, an existing ambulatory surgery center on Carnegie Boulevard will be remodeled to include more surgery and procedure rooms.
Another existing medical office building will be remodeled to become a women’s and children’s health center.
“This campus will meet a significant portion of patients’ care needs in one convenient location,” said John Bowen, president, Parkview Regional Medical Center and Affiliates. “Based on patient feedback, we are adding some of our most in-demand services to the campus, meeting more diverse clinical needs and making it easier for area residents to receive care closer to home.”
Parkview says the facilities will mean the creation of 160 new jobs in clinical and non-clinical roles.
Site work is expected to begin this month and construction is slated to begin this fall. All construction is expected to be complete in 2023.
The campus, which is currently known as Parkview Inverness, will be renamed Parkview Southwest.
