The chamber says honor is given for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. Exports.
Secretary Penny Pritzker said the "E" Awards Committee was impressed with the chamber’s dedication to helping first-time exporters understand the export process. She said the chamber has demonstrated a "sustained commitment" to export expansion.
"The (Indy Chamber’s) support of trade missions through seminars and conferences was also particularly notable," said Pritzker. "The Indy Chamber’s achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create American jobs."
Indy Chamber President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Huber said more than 100,000 local jobs are already supported by exports. He said the city can grow those numbers, as well as average incomes and the overall economy, by helping more businesses become exporters.
