VW Committee to Fund Charging Stations

Subscribe NowThe Indiana Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust Program Committee has approved more than $5 million to install electric vehicle charging stations around the state. The funding to the Indiana Utility Group will be used to install at least 61 DC fast electric vehicle charging stations.
The committee says planning is in the early stages but feels the DC Fast EV stations will help Indiana meet future transportation needs. The charging stations are expected to charge some EV’s in as quickly as 20 minutes.
The Indiana Utility Group is comprised of Duke Energy Indiana, Hoosier Energy REC Inc., Indiana Michigan Power, AES Indiana, Northern Indiana Public Service Co., Vectren, Wabash Valley Power Alliance, and Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power.
