The company, which specializes in IoT cloud platforms, has developed smart-home technology that discovers and coordinates devices.
Allegion says its expertise in security products and solutions matches well with Yonomi’s intellectual property.
“Yonomi’s patented technology and technical capabilities will help accelerate Allegion’s vision of seamless access and enhance the breadth of our software development capabilities,” said Vince Wenos, Allegion Chief Technology Officer. “It also opens avenues for integration with leaders in home and enterprise solutions for the IoT – supporting our ‘partner of choice’ strategy.”
Wenos says Allegion is already a user of Yonomi’s platform as part of its residential smart deadbolt system.
Yonomi employs nearly 25 people at its operations in Boulder, Colorado, and Austin, Texas. Allegion employs 1,300+ workers in Indiana, including manufacturing and technology facilities. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
