(Nasdaq: IEA) has received a contract for a major wind project in Illinois. IEA subsidiary White Construction will build the 185-megawatt Glacier Sands wind farm, with limited construction work already underway.
IEA says White Construction will perform all of the engineering, procurement, and construction needs for the project. They include the construction of project roads, improvement of public roads, installation of collection systems, and the foundations for and erection of 43 wind turbines.
“IEA is pleased to partner with Cordelio Power on this important wind construction project,” JP Roehm, chief executive officer of IEA, said in a news release. “Through our work on the Glacier Sands Wind Farm, IEA looks forward to continuing to reduce Illinois’ carbon footprint by bringing affordable, clean energy to the state.”
The company expects to begin full construction in the first quarter. The project is slated for completion in October 2021.
