Ball State says the rebranding will “present a new look and feel to viewers.” Dan Lutz, vice president of information technology for the university and general manager for Ball State PBS, says the station will continue to provide the programming and services it has always offered.
The university says the station’s streaming service, WIPB Passport, will continue to be available as Ball State PBS Passport and the station will continue its WIPB Member Card program.
The station launched in October 1971 and offers national PBS programming, as well as local content, including programs produced by Ball State students and faculty.
The station was also the host of the popular show “The Joy of Painting” hosted by Bob Ross, with many episodes being filmed in Muncie.
