Milwaukee Tool says it will invest nearly $7 million to establish a tool service hub in Greenwood and create more than 480 jobs by the end of 2025. The company, which makes heavy-duty power tools and hand tools, as well as storage products and accessories, plans to lease a 150,000-square-foot facility that will be used for tool repair and warehousing.
Milwaukee Tool says the new location will complement its other service hub in Mississippi.
“As we continue to grow, it’s important that we create true partnerships that will allow us to attract, retain and recruit the best talent in the world. We are proud to partner with the city of Greenwood and the state of Indiana to grow a world-class work environment in this community,” said Steve Richman, group president for Milwaukee Tool. “The Greenwood, Indiana, service hub will play a critical role to help improve our service response time for users.”
Milwaukee Tool employs some 5,000 people throughout the U.S. The company is currently hiring for management and operations positions at the new Greenwood location.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. plans to offer Milwaukee Tool up to $4.5 million in conditional tax credits and up to $500,000 in training grants, which the company will not be eligible to claim until Hoosier workers are hired for the new jobs. The city of Greenwood has approved additional incentives.
