Famous Chicago-area pizzeria Lou Malnati’s is nearing the opening of its new location in Carmel. The deep dish pizza spot is currently under construction with plans to open in late October.

The new location will be its second Indiana location after opening its first in Schererville in 2019.

The 1,550-square-foot store will be carryout and delivery only in The Bridges mixed-use development at the corner of Spring Mill and West 116th Street. Plans call for 50 employees to be hired, including kitchen crew, phone staff and delivery drivers.

Hiring for various positions is ongoing online with plans for a recruiting event coming soon. Interviews are slated for Zoom, and those interested can apply here or by texting “Lous” to 85000.

“We’re excited to expand our footprint in Indiana and make Carmel home to our first location in the Indianapolis area,” said Marc Malnati. “We’re planning to have several stores in the area, including a full-service restaurant in Broad Ripple (coming 2021) and are committed to providing jobs in the local community.”
