Manchester Increases Esports Competition

The school in North Manchester is currently a member of the National Association of Collegiate Esports. But players were typically limited to one competition a week.
“It gives our players another chance for competition,” said eSports Director Jim Manis
“This will provide one to two more games a week for students.
Manchester will compete in GLEC League of Legends and Rocket League play.
Bethel University in Mishawaka, Trine University in Fort Wayne and eight schools in Ohio are also in league play against Manchester.
Conference play begins September 12 and will end no later than November 15.
Manchester says it has taken COVID-19 precautions in its eSports arena: spreading out players, limiting total capacity of the arena, scheduling times for extra cleaning and adding Plexiglas shields between stations.
In addition to the intercollegiate competition, the university also offers the recreational Manchester Gaming Society.
