The Indiana Destination Development Corp. says the Hoosier Hospitality Promise “empowers communities to keep everyone safe from COVID-19.”
Through the initiative, businesses and consumers can make “The Promise” to follow federal, state and local health and safety guidelines. The IDDC says the promise includes following CDC guidelines for safe sanitization practices, following guidelines for specific sectors, practicing social distancing and wearing face coverings, not going out if sick, and displaying the Hoosier Hospitality Promise at entrances.
“The Hoosier Hospitality Promise will give consumers and businesses the confidence needed while reopening,” said Elaine Bedel, Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of IDDC. “And helping businesses put health and safety procedures in place is necessary to get our Indiana attractions Back on Track.”
The initiative is a joint effort involving the IDDC, Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch, the Indiana Restaurant & Lodging Association and the Indiana Tourism Association.
“Restaurants and Hotels once employed nearly 13% of Hoosiers,” said Patrick Tamm, president of the INRLA. “Hospitality destinations provide each community unique attractions to enjoy and gather as a community. It’s absolutely critical for Hoosiers to once again enjoy the many unique opportunities that our destinations statewide provide. Visit a restaurant, zoo, museum, an Indiana attraction, and stay in a hotel.”
