The orthopedic product development company announced today it is investing more than $4.5 million in its new headquarters at the Warsaw Technology Park which will create up to 111 jobs over the next four years. Chief Executive Officer Rod Mayer says Warsaw has an infrastructure that can also support other businesses.
In an interview with Inside INdiana Business, Chief Financial Officer Dan Stichter said moving to Warsaw years ago created many benefits for the company.
“It really gives us the opportunity to leverage manufacturing capabilities, leverage even independent consultants and other supporting benefits that are here in the community — things such as regulatory, quality, other aspects of the business that maybe one wouldn’t think of immediately when they think of the orthopedic capital of the world,” said Stichter.
Stichter says having such a wide variety of local resources has been mutually beneficial in the company’s efforts to bring products to market.
“I can say with a high level of confidence that if we did not have the infrastructure here that we currently have in Warsaw and Kosciusko County, we would not be able to be as rapidly successful as we are today.”
Mayer says Nextremity Solutions has an opportunity to take a lead role in becoming an incubation opportunity for other companies.
“We like to think of our (company) as an entrepreneurial venture,” said Mayer. “So there’s certainly this strong infrastructure to support the orthopedic industry. We would like to see more expansion and incubating more companies in the community.”
