The company says the five participating startups range in industry from aviation to manufacturing to eye care.
The startups include Glasses Gripper, Guardian Machine Protection, Lensquote, SimpleSortie, and STRE.ME.
Sarah Aubrey, director of gBETA Fort Wayne, said, “This cohort was selected from among a highly competitive pool of applicants, and I’m so pleased with how they have adapted to the impacts of COVID-19 on the program and their businesses.”
The 2020 cohort will receive intensive and individualized coaching and access to gener8tor’s national network of mentors, customers, corporate partners and investors. The accelerator says its program is designed to help startups gain early customer traction on their product or idea, and establish metrics that can make them competitive applicants for full-time, equity-based accelerators or seed investment.
The program started virtually on April 17. The startups will be working over the next seven weeks with the gBETA team to meet mentors, gain customer traction and pitch to investors.
Additionally, the gBETA programs in Fort Wayne and Terre Haute will come together in June for a virtual pitch night that will be open to the public.
