Manufacturer Expanding, Bringing 400 Jobs to Wells County

Subscribe NowA Michigan-based automotive supplier has announced plans to establish operations in northeast Indiana. Inteva Products says it will invest more than $42 million to lease, renovate and equip a 260,000-square-foot facility in Bluffton and create up to 419 jobs by the end of 2023.
The Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership says the new location will support the company’s manufacturing and assembly of interior systems.
“The city of Bluffton is pleased to have Inteva Products opening a facility in our community and creating new jobs,” said Bluffton Mayor John Whicker. “Having a global automotive supplier locate to Northeast Indiana is a testament to our region’s commitment to attracting new businesses and creating additional partnerships.”
Inteva plans to begin hiring for a variety of positions this summer, including production, finance, human resources, engineering and quality. The company employs some 9,000 people across 30 locations around the world.
The new Bluffton facility is expected to be fully operational by summer of 2021.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered Inteva Products up to nearly $2.4 million in conditional tax credits and up to $250,000 in conditional training grants, which the company will not be eligible to claim until Hoosier workers are hired for the new jobs.
The city of Bluffton, the Bluffton Redevelopment Commission and Wells County will also consider additional incentives.
