Dan Hasler’s last day at the university will be March 31.
Hasler joined Purdue in 2013 as president and chief entrepreneurial officer for PRF and would later become executive vice president for communications.
The university says Hasler established programs and policies to ease the commercialization and startup creation of Purdue-rooted innovation while heading up the foundation.
“Dan’s contributions here have been truly unmatched, leading us to a position of literal world leadership in partnerships, patents, licenses and startup companies,” said Purdue University President Mitch Daniels.
During his time at the PRF helm, Purdue restructured its technology commercialization processes and reached record numbers of patents, licenses and technology commercialization.
Hasler was named executive vice president for communications in May 2018, where he has overseen marketing strategy, strategic communications, media relations, advertising, licensing, and digital marketing across the Purdue system.
Prior to his work at Purdue, Hasler served as Indiana secretary of commerce and chief executive officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corp. He also worked for 32 years at Eli Lilly and Co, serving as vice president for global marketing.
“Most impressive to me, he brought to Purdue invaluable new perspectives from his earlier careers but quickly became a universally liked colleague of people all over campus,” said Daniels.
