Martin’s Super Markets Acquisition Complete

The acquisition includes 21 Martin’s Super Markets in northern Indiana and southwest Michigan, eight fuel centers, 17 in-store pharmacies, a pharmacy at Saint Joseph Health System in Mishawaka, a Martin’s Express convenience store in South Bend and a Side Door Cafe at Elkhart General Hospital. Martin’s employed 3,500 people, but its not known if any of the jobs will be affected by the acquisition.
This is the second acquisition of an Indiana company for SpartanNash in the last two years. In January 2017, the company acquired Indianapolis-based Caito Foods Service in a $217 million deal.
