Swiss Company Bringing 100 Jobs to Indy

Subscribe NowSwitzerland-based dormakaba is expanding its Indianapolis operations and plans to create more than 100 jobs over the next few years. The security solutions company says Indianapolis will be its Access Solutions Americas segment headquarters.
The company plans a significant investment to nearly double the size of its Indianapolis facility and increase production of secure locks and access control solutions. The technology is designed for markets including schools, airports, stadiums, retail and government facilities.
dormakaba plans to break ground on the expansion later this year and have it fully operational within three years. The company says it will hire for front office and finance positions now and manufacturing and assembly openings over the next one-to-two years. The state says the positions are expected to offer salaries above the state and Marion County averages. The company was founded as a locksmith and cash register factory in 1862.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered dormakaba up to $2.4 million in conditional tax credits based on the job creation plans. The city of Indianapolis is offering additional incentives.
The IEDC says Indiana is home to 38 Swiss business operations.
