The LaGrange County Economic Development Corp. says Heartland Table Pad Co. fills a void created by the closure of Ohio Table Pad last winter.
The company has begun operating in the town with a few employees and plans to add more in the coming years. It was launched by Don Unger and Gary Heal, who acquired the 8,500 square-foot space with the help of the LCEDC. The building has undergone "significant" renovations since Heartland Table Pad began operations.
"We saw an opportunity for a quality-oriented, customer friendly table pad business, and we were committed to keeping it in LaGrange County,” said Heal. "The EDC and several other organizations have been extremely supportive and played a critical role in assisting us as we navigate the startup phase. We look forward to being an involved member of the Wolcottville Community."
Ryne Krock, president and chief executive officer of the LCEDC, says the company’s investment shows a commitment to the people of Wolcottville and LaGrange County.
