American Senior Communities Responds to Investigation

Subscribe NowIn the wake of an FBI investigation, Indianapolis-based American Senior Communities has issued a statement saying it is "in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations." The company says it is fully cooperating with the federal government after Tuesday’s raids, which included the home of Chief Executive Officer James Burkhart.
The Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General and the U.S. Attorney Medicaid Fraud Control Unit were involved in Tuesday’s activities. According to the company’s website, ASC has more than 90 locations in Indiana and Kentucky.

ASC has been contacted by the federal government in connection with an investigation into certain individuals or practices. ASC is fully cooperating with the government and is conducting its own review to ascertain the relevant facts. ASC is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations and will continue to conduct its business in accordance with the highest standards of integrity.
