The team will travel to Washington D.C. in April to take part in the National Science Bowl Finals.

Indianapolis, Ind. — Sycamore fielded two teams for the National Science Bowl Indiana Regional competition Saturday (February 22) at Indiana State University, and the team captained by Sycamore’s Alex Gu won the competition, earning a spot to compete in the National Science Bowl Finals.
Gu captained a team that also included Sycamore Middle School students Michelle Shen, Jay Maturi, and Aidan Sher, They earned 1st place out of 11 teams.
As a result of winning the entire competition, the team moves on to the national round, earning the right to represent Indiana with an all-expense paid trip to the National Science Bowl Finals competition in Washington, D.C., held from April 24-28.
Sycamore had another team finish in the top 5, with the Alex Smith-captained team (consisting of himself, Varun Chheda, Brendan Hurley, and Isaac Meng) earning 5th place.
