Visit South Bend Mishawaka says participants of the Indiana State USBC Youth Association event will pump an estimated $1.5 million into the area.
The organization says more than 3,000 bowlers from age four through 20 are set to compete in the tournament, which begins this weekend. Visit South Bend Mishawaka says the event’s location is usually on a 10-year rotation, but it will return to South Bend after three.
Sports Sales Manager Meghan Huff says "we are excited to have this event back in our community so soon. South Bend is a proud bowling community, and it is an honor to host the USBC Youth Bowling Tournament again!"
The organization says Indiana is home to more than 7,000 certified youth bowlers. It promotes the sport through educational and fitness programs and also awards scholarships and raises money for charity.
