Now known as The Sacred Alliance, the organization will operate out of Wesley Seminary at Indiana Wesleyan University, which it says will help expand its reach to a greater audience.
The Sacred Alliance has also named a new director. Andrea Summers, who previously served as director of women’s ministry for The Wesleyan Church and an adjunct faculty member at IWU, will oversee the organization efforts in leadership development, advocacy, deployment and networking for women.
“At Wesley Seminary, The Sacred Alliance, which is funded by outside grants, will face outward to the greater Wesleyan Church as well as other denominations,” said Summers. “We want The Sacred Alliance to be something that is global. We want it to be a growing online community and serve a larger, global church."
Summers says the goal is to make the organization a place for men and women to come together to advocate for the role of women in ministry.
