The company is inviting entrepreneurs to present their shelf-ready products — made, grown or assembled in the United States — during an afternoon event featuring local business leaders.
The Walmart tour marks the 10th anniversary of the retailer’s Open Call, inviting business owners to pitch their products for sale at Walmart or Sam’s Club stores or online.
The event kicks off at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Walmart Supercenter at 4545 Lafayette Road on the city’s northwest side.
The tour stop will feature a visit from State Sen. Fady Qaddoura, Indiana Manufacturers Association CEO Brian Barton, Madam Walker Legacy Center President Kristian Little Stricklen and Indy Chamber Senior Vice President Stacia Murphy.
A public affairs official with Walmart and the leader of a Hoosier Walmart supplier — Andrew Saal, president of Turf Titan Brands — will also be in attendance.
Local entrepreneurs at the tour stop Tuesday will able to record a video application for the supermarket chain’s next Open Call event in October.
Walmart officials are expected to present contributions to the Madam Walker Legacy Center and Accelerate Indy during their visit.
