The business-to-business analytics firm, which currently employs 127, expects the new building to be complete by the end of next year. Walker says the expansion is a result of a need to expand services and boost consulting operations for continued growth.
Chief Executive Officer Steven Walker, whose family founded the company nearly 80 years ago in the Broad Ripple area of Indianapolis, says "Indiana is the ideal place for Walker. The business environment, the caliber of our workforce and the quality of life for our people are just a few of the reasons we choose to do business from our headquarters in Indianapolis. In addition, Indianapolis has become an important center for the emerging measured marketing industry and Walker has been an important contributor to this effort since our humble beginnings in 1939."
Walker’s client list includes large companies such as EMC, Sysco, Pepsi and Avaya. The company says the new jobs are expected to pay close to 50 percent more than the average wage in the state.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. has offered Walker up to $455,000 in conditional tax credits. The city of Indianapolis and the Indy Chamber’s Develop Indy business unit will consider other incentives for the company.
The new 54,000 square-foot headquarters will be at 8940 River Crossing Blvd. In 2014, the company celebrated 75 years in business.
