The company has signed an agreement to move its West Lafayette Research and Innovation Center to the Purdue Applied Research Institute (PARI).
Financial details of the company’s move are not being disclosed. Peraton was previously housed at a temporary location at 101 Foundry Drive in West Lafayette.
The West Lafayette Research and Innovation Center, Peraton says, conducts applied research and development in cyber, networking, operations, and quantum technologies, with deep expertise in cyber defense, critical infrastructure protection, and exploration and assessment of emerging cyber threats, among other areas.
Peraton and Purdue said in a joint statement that the move will address growing mission needs and leverage local talent.
“A strong community of innovators and problem solvers is part of the PARI DNA,” PARI Chief Operations Officer Kevin Massey said in a news release. “It is exciting to have a nationally recognized leader in research such as Peraton working side by side with PARI staff in a PARI facility. It makes us both stronger through daily collaboration and sharing of ideas.”
The Purdue Applied Research Institute is a not-for-profit entity that works to improve national security, global development, infrastructure solutions and to accelerate critical technologies, Purdue said.
Chris Valentino, chief innovation officer for Peraton, said the move builds on the company’s longstanding relationship with Purdue.
“Leveraging the strong local talent pool and our connections with Purdue University enables us to meet expanding opportunities for mission-critical research and development and accelerate the pace and breadth of our work addressing national security challenges,” Valentino said.
Peraton employs some 18,000 people across its entire footprint and plans to work with the university to recruit more people for its West Lafayette office.
