The 2016 event will mark the third time the race has been held in Indiana and will feature cars that previously competed in the Indianapolis 500, NASCAR and Formula One.
The race and surrounding events will take place June 15-19 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Brickyard Invitational is part of a 16-weekend schedule for the SVRA, which also features events at venues including Watkins Glen, Circuit of the Americas, Mid-Ohio and Virginia International Raceway.
In a release from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, President Doug Boles said the race at the more than century-old venue puts "cars across all those decades on track, at speed and in competition."
The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association was founded in 1981 and has more than 2,000 active members.
