At the site of the former Harrison Hall, the university is building a two-story center that will be home to nursing, health information management, surgical technology, physical therapist assistant, pharmacy technology, and funeral service education programs, as well as the Center for Active Learning.
Plans for the building were first announced last August. The new facility will have several classrooms, simulation labs and specialty labs—all equipped with new technology.
“We felt it was very important to upgrade that, not only to stay competitive and to draw students, but also to give our students the quality education they deserve when they come to Vincennes University,” Andrew Young, director of architectural services and facilities at VU, told our partners at WTWO-TV in December.
Construction on the new building is expected to be complete by fall 2025.
Monday afternoon’s public event included remarks from President Chuck Johnson, Board of Trustees Chair Mike Sievers, Director of Architectural Services and Facilities Andrew Young and Good Samaritan Hospital CEO Rob McLin.
