A Lilly Endowment Inc. grant and partnership with Telamon Robotics made the outreach possible. The university said it will prepare students for manufacturing technology and workforce demands.
“Empowering the next generation with Industry 4.0 technologies is not just a choice. It is a necessity,” CARA Director Kimberly Wright said in a news release. “By embracing these technologies, we are bridging the gap between education and industry and cultivating a workforce that thrives in the high-tech era, ensuring a brighter and more competitive Indiana.”
The centers receiving the cobots are:
- Grant Regional Career Center in Marion
- Heartland Career Center in Wabash
- Elkhart Career Center
- Hinds Career Center in Elwood
- Area 30 Career Center in Greencastle
- Area 31 Career Center in Indianapolis
- East Allen Career Center in New Haven
- Warsaw Career Center
In October 2022, VU opened the Center for Applied Robotics and Automation with 12 cobots. The center was also supported by an $8 million grant from Lilly Endowment and support from Telamon Robotics.
