Vera Bradley Foundation Event Boasts Big Results

Subscribe NowThe Fort Wayne-based Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer says this year's Classic Golf & Tennis Tournament raised more than $830,000. Funds from the annual event support breast cancer research at the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis. The organization says the event draws about 600 participants and 300 volunteers each year. To date, the foundation says it has raised more than $23 million for breast cancer research.
Earlier this year, the foundation named Lynda Houk executive director. She had previously served as events coordinator for the nonprofit. Houk succeeded Catherine Hill, who left the foundation after 14 years.
