Claire Nieshalla Neuman began as the Venture Club’s first executive director on June 20.
“The opportunity to connect the state’s greatest risk-takers with one another is what invigorates my work at the Venture Club; it is the reason our club will celebrate 40 years of faithful impact among its members and beyond,” Neuman said. “I am excited about offering new ideas, while preserving the institutional knowledge of the Venture Club through building relationships with investors, business and student leaders across the state.”
The 22-year-old is a recent graduate of Taylor University and is completing an Orr Fellowship, according to a news release from the organization.
Neuman was among five candidates interviewed in a “speed dating” format during the Orr Fellowship Finalist day on Nov. 18. She studied public relations and marketing at Taylor and has worked with the Boone County Economic Development Corp., Compassion International and Southwest Airlines.
“Hiring Claire as the executive director will widen our reach and deepen our impact as she champions connections through the club’s membership platform and leads programming initiatives for the goal of optimizing the density of Indiana’s investor-entrepreneurial ecosystem,” Venture Club President Aaron Gillum said.
Neuman’s hiring comes just as the Venture Club prepares for its 15th annual Innovation Showcase on Thursday. The participants for the event were announced last month. You can find more information about the showcase by clicking here.
