Vectren says it has committed a $40,000 grant toward scholarships for Evansville residents at Eleven Fifty.
The nonprofit coding school says its efforts in Evansville will include resources to enhance the area technology pool of skilled workers. Eleven Fifty’s online courses include web development, application development, and cybersecurity.
“We’re excited to be an early supporter of Eleven Fifty’s expansion to Evansville. The grant is highly aligned with Vectren’s interest in supporting programs that help communities thrive,” says Richard Leger, vice president of natural gas distribution at Vectren. “Eleven Fifty’s efforts to provide skilled training and career placement will lead to success for our residents and a more vibrant community as a result.”
Eleven Fifty recently announced statewide open enrollment in its courses, available online amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
