Through the partnership, students will be admitted to both institutions, allowing them to complete an associate degree from Ivy Tech and then transition to Valparaiso to finish their bachelor’s.
Students must first be accepted to Ivy Tech and then submit a dual admission application, the university said in a news release.
“I look forward to working with Ivy Tech as we enhance the education of exceptional young people in our region,” Valparaiso President Jose Padilla said. “This partnership will play a major role in educating and retaining a diverse array of professionals that will benefit the community.”
Students will receive academic advising from both colleges, including a degree plan when they start at Ivy Tech. A scholarship for $23,000 per year is also available for eligible students.
While at Ivy Tech, partnership students will receive a Valparaiso email, student ID card and other student perks, like sporting and arts event admission and access to the university’s library system.
“This partnership is a testament to our commitment to providing students with a seamless and supportive college experience,” Aco Sikoski, chancellor of Ivy Tech’s Valparaiso campus, said in the release. “Our goal has always been to meet students where they are and deliver higher education at the speed of life. This agreement is a significant step towards that goal.”
