Our partners at The Times Northwest Indiana report UGN is planning to build the $30 million auto parts factory in Valparaiso or Ohio.
UGN already employs 330 workers at its Valparaiso plant, and 280 in Monroe, Ohio.
The auto parts supplier would need to add 150,000 square feet to its Valparaiso plant to accommodate the new venture where workers will produce acoustic products for vehicles and interior trim components. The new plant will offer 111 new jobs and about $6 million in annual payroll.
UGN plans to announce their decision by the end of March, with construction set to begin in November to start production for 2019 model year vehicles.
