Subscribe NowA Kentucky-based company is planning to redevelop a site that used to be the location of one of Kendallville's largest employers. The Journal Gazette reports Garrett LLC wants to demolish the former Dalton Foundry facility and remediate the property. It could eventually be sold to the city for future development.
In 2009, Wisconsin-based Neenah Foundry Co. closed the foundry, leaving 200 without jobs.
It was opened in the late-1920s, but the recent recession proved to be too challenging for the parent company.
