USI to Cut Ribbon on Performance Center

Subscribe NowThe University of Southern Indiana will officially cut the ribbon this week on its new $17 million Performance Center. The school says the 350-seat venue includes state-of-the-art lighting, sound and performance technology.
The ribbon-cutting is set for Thursday, September 3 at 1:30 p.m. local time. The event will include musical performances and facility tours.
According to the school, features of the new theater include:
Thrust stage with additional staging areas incorporated into the walls
Light wall containing thousands of computer controlled LED lights with a full spectrum of colors
Sound baffle system with acoustic panels created with donated materials
Steinway concert grand piano specifically crafted for the center
