The Committee is comprised of 39 elected and appointed officials and provides advice and recommendations to build relationships between the EPA and local governments.
“EPA is fortunate to have Mayor Brainard participate in this important committee. So many environmental concerns including drinking water and air quality, environmental justice, and the redevelopment of contaminated properties, can be addressed only with the participation of local governments,” said acting EPA Region 5 Administrator Cheryl Newton. “Addressing our most pressing environmental challenges requires the experience and expertise of local government leaders.”
