Our partners at WTWO-TV report an unnamed company plans to invest $10 million to set up shop at the Vigo County Industrial Park II.
Terre Haute Economic Development Corp. President Steve Witt said the company plans to acquire about 28 acres in the industrial park.
“What we like about this project isn’t so much the project itself, but what the project will bring to the community and the surrounding area,” Witt told WTWO. “Until we actually receive their bid we can’t divulge any more information but I think people will be very pleased with it.”
Witt said the company approached the county about locating in Vigo County, which “speaks very well of our community but also our industrial park.”
More information about the project, including the name of the company and a timeline for construction, is expected to be unveiled at the commission’s next meeting in February.
News of the project comes just four months after Oregon-based Entek broke ground on a $1.5 billion battery component manufacturing campus at the industrial park, which is expected to bring 650 jobs to the county.
