The new regional organization is known as Heart of Indiana United Way and will serve Delaware, Fayette, Henry, Madison, and Randolph counties.
Through combined skills and resources, the organization says it will bring more resources to the community, improve business efficiencies, and work to solve communities’ challenges.
“Across the heart of Indiana, nearly half of all households cannot make ends meet,” said Jenni Marsh, Heart of Indiana United Way president. “Growing needs of children and families cannot be met by maintaining the status quo. Neighbors uniting their strengths and compassion will empower Heart of Indiana United Way to meet those needs.”
Heart of Indiana United Way says it will maintain commitments including honoring donor intent and continued interest in collaborating with donors to solve community issues, working with local nonprofits that share a vision for the community, reflecting community needs in funding decisions, and building a stronger, more effective organization with extended volunteer and staff capacity.
