The food hall currently has 13 food and beverage vendors, but another five are expected to open in the coming weeks.
Planning and construction of the broader Electric Works project has been underway for two years. In addition to the food hall, the campus will include office space, an innovation center, a STEM school and a primary care clinic.
“To see it from the ground up to now, how well put together it is, how beautiful it is and just the energy they’ve encapsulated through the history behind the building, it’s just really amazing and we’re so excited,” Brooks BBQ and Chicken Owner Cameron Brooks told our partners at WPTA-TV.
Brooks says they have been operating a food truck, but the opportunity to establish a permanent location at Electric Works was too good to pass up.
Representatives from Union Street Market say the vendors are small, local business owners and the food hall gives them a venue to showcase their fare.
