The nearly century-old hotel, which underwent a $35 million renovation that was completed in August 2020, is now an Autograph Collection hotel.
The Autograph Collection includes more than 200 independent hotels worldwide “hand-selected for their inherent craft and distinct perspectives on design and hospitality.”
The 182-room Union Club Hotel was originally built in 1929 as an extension to the Purdue Memorial Union. A second wing was added in 1939, and a third wing was added in 1955.
“Throughout history, generations of Purdue graduates have left their mark, in small steps and giant leaps,” Vicki Wicks, general manager of The Union Club Hotel at Purdue University, Autograph Collection, said in a news release. “Joining Autograph Collection Hotels is a giant leap for Purdue’s hospitality program and further reinforces the world-class amenities we offer at The Union Club Hotel.”
The hotel is managed by Merrillville-based White Lodging Services Inc. The company has developed the LAUNCH Hospitality Immersion Program at the hotel, a multi-year talent development program to give students hands-on experience and potential internships and jobs at White Lodging.
