Trine says the $5.5 million, 120-bed building is expected to open by the start of the fall 2021 semester.
The university says the new building will have apartment-style homes similar to the established Reiners and Stadium residence halls. Students will be able to share an open area and kitchen on the main level.
“With our main campus continuing to attract and retain record numbers of students, our residential facilities are once again nearing capacity, and all indicators point to these trends continuing,” said Earl Brooks II, Trine University president. “We appreciate the leadership of the Board of Trustees and their willingness to take action to preserve and even improve the quality of the Trine University residential experience.”
Trine says an older dormitory-style building will be demolished as the new building is constructed.
