Brooks has served as the university’s president since 2000. Since that time, he has successfully led a $90 million capital campaign, kept a balanced budget for the university for 16 consecutive years and oversaw the transition from Tri-State University to Trine University in 2008.
"Trine University has flourished in all areas under Dr. Brooks’ outstanding leadership, with ongoing growth in enrollment, fundraising, academic programs, and outcomes for our alumni," said Board Chair Rick James. "We are confident that his continued direction will allow the university to build on the positive momentum that has been generated over the past 18 years."
Enrollment at the university has nearly quadrupled since Brooks took office. During Brooks’ tenure, Trine has also invested more than $155 million into the campus, including most recently, the Thunder Ice Arena and MTI Center.
