Trine says the agreement will offer teachers at Eastside Jr./Sr. High School, as well as Butler and Riverdale Elementary Schools, professional development opportunities and easier access to degree programs.
“As the needs for teachers continue to grow, we are always looking for new ways to support our current staff in their continuing education,” said Dr. Shane Conwell, superintendent of DeKalb County Eastern Community School District. “This is just one more way we can help.”
Trine says DeKalb Eastern employees will be offered free enrollment applications as well as an unofficial transfer credit evaluation. The employees will also receive a free professional development course and additional support through educational grants and scholarships and tuition reimbursement.
“DeKalb Eastern, just like Trine University, works to prepare students to succeed, lead and serve. It’s a privilege to partner with and support an organization whose focus so closely mirrors our own,” said Dr. Earl Brooks, president of Trine University. “By working together, we can do even more to equip the district’s employees, thereby further enhancing the education of students in eastern DeKalb County.”
Trine previously partnered with the district through the STEM with Storm program.
