The digital marketing talent platform says its 2017 revenue doubled from the previous year and it will use the funds to boost its global network of freelancers. The latest investment brings the total amount raised by Torchlite to $5.5 million since its founding three years ago.
In an interview with Inside INdiana Business, Chief Executive Officer Susan Marshall said the marketing technology industry is changing and her company allows skilled talent to connect with businesses in need of specialists. "What’s happening is more and more of these highly-technical and highly-sought-after resources are choosing to be independent contractors and work from wherever they want — anywhere in the world," she said. "Through our online platform, we can attract these marketing technologists from all over the world. They can easily create a profile on our platform and then businesses of all sizes — particularly mid-sized and larger companies — can then license our platform and have their own private marketplace of on-demand experts."
Torchlite says its growth in three years demonstrates a "massive" market need for certified experts, managing marketing tech resources and building campaigns. Last year, the company landed $2 million in funding and named McCorkle executive chairman. Torchlite’s customers include NAPA Balkamp, Single Source Systems and PoliticalBank.
