IWU and friends of Ron Blue matched the gift from Thrivent, a nonprofit financial services organization headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Appleton, Wisconsin.
The institute’s mission is to advance financial literacy, as it’s taught in the Bible, to universities, financial planners, Christian churches and schools.
“The fact that we achieved our fund-raising goal is emblematic of a passionate and devoted base of friends, RBI board members, and Christian organizations who deeply care for biblical financial wisdom, stewardship, and generosity and the Christians we serve,” said Dr. Larry Lindsay, RBI’s chief academic and operations officer.
Blue founded the Kingdom Advisors ministry which teaches Christian financial advisors how to integrate Biblical scripture into their money management advice and financial stewardship. Blue, who graduated from Indiana University, licensed his intellectual property to IWU in 2012 to create the institute bearing his name.
“We have enjoyed our partnership with Thrivent and IWU to bring a message of financial stewardship and generosity to Christian churches, high schools, universities, and individuals who need to hear and act upon the principles and practices,” said Blue.
IWU says in addition to the Thrivent gift, four other major gifts and more than 50 donors contributed to the RBI Endowment.
