Three Hoosier cities among top 10 for best places

Subscribe NowPersonal finance website WalletHub has released its list of 2022’s Best Small Cities in America and three central Indiana communities are in the top 10. WalletHub says it compared more than 1,300 U.S. cities with populations between 25,000 and 100,000 across 43 key indicators, such as housing costs, school system quality and the crime rate.
Carmel is the highest-ranked Indiana city, coming in second to Lancaster, PA. Zionsville is ranked number seven and Westfield is number 10.
While not specifically ranked, Fishers, Brownsburg and Noblesville were all in the top five percent of best small cities.
Thirty-four Indiana cities were named. Gary had the lowest ranking.
Among sub-categories, the community of Granger in St. Joseph County had the 5th lowest housing cost and fourth highest home ownership among the most livable cities.
Massachusetts had the most cities atop the list with seven of the top 20 spots.
