The Farmers Bank Board of Directors has selected Karen Gregerson as president and chief executive officer. Gregerson succeeds Karen Miller, who passed away in November after a battle with cancer.

Board Chairman Joe Doan said Gregerson will join the company within the next 30 days. She comes to The Farmers Bank from Fort Wayne-based STAR Financial Bank, where she serves as chief financial officer.

"After an extensive search among many qualified candidates, the Board of Directors is excited to have a person of Mrs. Gregerson’s caliber and credentials helping us to continue our legacy as a successful community bank," said Doan.

Gregerson serves on numerous boards in Marion and Fort Wayne, including the Girl Scouts of America, Habitat for Humanity and Junior Achievement, among others.
