Tell City Plant to be Shuttered

Subscribe NowOhio-based Parker Hannifin Corp. says it will close its Tell City operation by the end of September. In a notice to the state, the component manufacturer says 78 employees will be affected and the layoffs are expected to begin November 10.
The affected positions include operators, maintenance and shipping/receiving. The Perry County facility is part of the process filtration division. Earlier this year, Parker-Hannifin completed the acquisition of Illinois-based CLARCOR Inc., a filtration manufacturer.
The company has 336 manufacturing locations spread throughout 50 countries, including more than a dozen in Indiana in communities including New Haven, Indianapolis, Syracuse, Ashley, Fort Wayne, Goodland, Albion, Goshen, Jeffersonville, Ligonier, Merrillville and Mishawaka.
