Subscribe NowTechPoint has named Rupal Thanawala, co-founder and CEO of Fishers-based tech and business advisory firm Trident Systems LLC, the winner of the 2023 Trailblazer Award. Thanawala will receive the award Saturday at the 24th annual TechPoint Mira Awards, honoring the best in tech in Indiana.
The Trailblazer Award is presented to individuals “whose contributions have had lasting and significant impact on the state and its technology ecosystem,” according to TechPoint, the nonprofit accelerator for Indiana’s tech sector.
A native of India, Thanawala co-founded Trident with her husband, Amit, and has previously held tech roles and leadership positions at Accenture, PwC, and TenthPin Consulting. She has also advised top life sciences companies such as Eli Lilly and Company, Elanco Animal Health and Roche Diagnostics.
“There are three ways that I would describe Rupal, a deep passion for her community, a tireless dedication to the community, and Rupal, definitely, is a connector within our tech community,” said Tim Coleman, senior vice president and chief technology officer at a Fortune 500 Healthcare company. “It’s been awesome to see her grow and develop on her journey as a leader.”
In addition to receiving the Trailblazer Award, Thanawala is a nominee for the Education Impact Award at this year’s Mira Awards, and was a nominee for the Community Impact Award last year.
Also in 2022, Thanawala was named the Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s 2022 Dynamic Leader of the Year. She also was one of 12 recipients of the 2018 Torchbearer Award from the Indiana Commission for Women.
