Students with the Erskine Green Training Institute, which will be housed in the hotel, will provide training for employment in the hospitality, food service and health care industries. Students will also have the opportunity to take part in internships at the hotel, the Thr3e Wise Men restaurant within the hotel and IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
"This project is only possible because so many people have come together to achieve this dream," said Kim Dodson, executive director of The Arc of Indiana and Arc Innovations. "We are making history that will forever change the lives of people with disabilities."
The project will also offer training to human resource professionals regarding hiring people with disabilities. People with disabilities will have the opportunity to own their own business in the hotel as well.
The ribbon-cutting will take place Tuesday, December 22 at 3:00 p.m.
